Established as a tribute to California’s Gold Rush, the museum displays artifacts from the 19th century gold mining era and from the Miwoks (the early Native American inhabitants who lived in the area). The collection includes photos, mining maps, and a vast display of gold specimens including the largest specimen of crystalline gold in the world.
